NAVECS is a safety management system which can be used to simulate emergencies for training purposes and as a decision support system in real emergencies. Specific data, plans and standardized contingency plans are prepared for each combination of company, ship type and ship, resulting in a unique and individually adapted program for the vessel. Over 40 emergency plans are activated by buttons displayed on the screen, including: fire (in port or at sea), man-over-board, unlawful acts, piracy, collisions etc. The program contains checklists and instructions, activated by the emergency plans. Important information relating to the ship, crew or cargo can be easily accessed in any situation. The system also includes one of the most comprehensive dangerous goods database.
